Product Description:
Taste the legacy of Ikenne and Ilishan in one rich, flavorful scoop. Kalos Ofada Stew Base simplifies the traditional Ayamase recipe — made with dehydrated green scotch bonnet, green jalapeño, green tomatoes, locust beans, and crayfish.
Whether you're preparing Sunday lunch or a midweek feast, this mix brings the same bold aroma and layered flavor of village-cooked Gbadun stew — no stress, no mess.
How to Use:
-
Soak the pepper mix in about 2.5 cups of hot water per pack.
-
Let it sit for 20–30 minutes to fully rehydrate.
-
Heat some bleached palm oil in a pan.
-
Add your cooked protein of choice and fry for a few minutes.
-
Pour the soaked stew base into the hot oil and fry for 5 minutes, stirring intermittently to prevent burning.
-
Add stock, seasoning, and salt to taste. Boiled eggs can be added if desired.
-
Cook for another 5 minutes. Serve with rice, boiled or fried yams, plantains, or even spaghetti.
Ingredients:
Green scotch bonnet, green jalapeño, green tomatoes, onions, locust beans, crayfish.
